I'm and if there’s one thing
I’m going to always do - I keep it real!
And baby keeping it real started with me.
When I was about 10, I was attending summer camp and staying with my granny. On one fine day sis — yes, sis is granny — had the audacity to send me to camp wearing a red top, with red socks, and white shoes. YIKES.
It was that day when I realized I didn’t want anyone dressing me anymore, so I studied my mother. I would always watch my mom get dressed, and with every look, she wore a statement piece and a bomb pair of shoes. I fell in love with her way of doing things -- the process and the execution of putting a look together. I loved observing how my mom felt — she knew she was a baddie. I wanted to exude that same confidence.
In high school, I still struggled with finding my unique style. I've always been edgy and unconventional, so in the era of Apple Bottom Jeans and Boots With The Fur, I just felt so out of place.
After graduating high school,
I enrolled at the Illinois Institute Of Art for Fashion Merchandising and Columbia College for Photography. I finally felt like I could break the mold connecting art, music, fashion, and photography. I was making a difference among people who loved fashion as much as I do. But like many millennials, I couldn't afford college and was forced to drop out. It broke my heart and life sent me on a series of jobs including retailers like F21, which I loved because it gave me a chance to dress women in the style truest to themselves. But after a while, I decided to choose a "more responsible" career so I enlisted in the Navy.
Ironically, this is where I built my career, my life, my identity. Anytime there was an opportunity to get dressed, I did. During deployment, my colleagues would always ask me to help them style a look. I began integrating my love for personal styling into an environment so conservative like the military.

When I had my first child, that was the first time my mind, body, and soul went through a massive change.
It took some time to rebuild my confidence and my physique after childbirth and relationships and it taught me how to dress for a new chapter of my life. I later met my best friend and husband Ackena in the Navy and along with our vows we committed to pushing each other in going after our dreams! Today I've found my way, I'm living my dream and it's helping women shine brighter through fashion and style. Discovering your StyleVibe is like expression therapy. Through my one-to-one interactions, I’ve found a commonality among my clients. The top three reasons women hire me are:
